Specification of 64bit CPUs of AMD
It is necessary to read the OPN code so that you may learn the specification of 64 bit processor of AMD.
There are two kinds of the OPN codes, and it is displayed on Box and the surface of CPU.
Please read the OPN code to obtain more detailed information of the generation, power consumption, and the L2 cache size etc. of CPU.

The role of the alphanumeric character displayed in white is uncertain.
OPN code
- ADA : Architecture / This shows the distinction by the usage of CPU.
- 4800 : Model Number/ Index that shows relative ratio of performances in CPU of AMD.
- I : Package/Specification of socket type and pin.
- A : V_CORE(V)/ Rated voltage of CPU.
- A : T_Case/ Permissible temperature upper bound when CPU works.
- 6 : L2 Cache/ Level 2 cache size.
- CS : Part Definition/ The alphabet including Revision information.
OPN code of Socket AM2
The model number of AMD included in the OPN is decided depending on the L2 Cache size and the operation frequency.
In Socket AM2 and Socket 939, when the L2 size and the clock are equal, it is the same model numbers.
You will learn a lot of the products are Dual-Core in Socket AM2.
However, Sempron cannot compare the Athlon64 series with the performance according to the model number.
