Recognition of the Multiplier in Athlon XP

The following report is applicable the Barton and Thoroughbred.
However, my presumed part is contained. Please confirm for yourself.

This report is inapplicable to the Super-Locked Athlon XP and Sempron. Please refer to the Multiplier on the fly

Multiplier Signal Circuits

We think that the multiplier of Athlon by L3 is as follows.
L1 bridge has connected between L3 and BP_FID Pin.


Multiplier control circuit

If you are using Motherboard which cannot control the Multiplier, the following circuits are added to it.
The multiplier is controllable by this circuit. It is not necessary to touch the FIDpins.

Multiplier control DIP-SW

It might be good to do as follows when you want to use DIP-SW. Please set two switches in the same direction to obtain a necessary logic level.

CORE Voltage


If this circuit is added to your motherboard, CORE Voltage can be set up with manual operation. However, it is necessary to intercept the VID signal of CPU by a certain method.
